FedEx Express, in cooperation with AIP Foundation/Safe Kids Vietnam, recently organized a  Traffic Safety Forum for Children during the 3rd United Nations Global Road Safety Week celebration.

With the theme of Children and Road Safety, select students from Ho Chi Minh City joined a panel discussion to discuss road risks and hazards they encounter when walking to school. The students were also asked to present solutions to road safety leaders that will enhance the safety of child pedestrians and improve walking environments in high-traffic areas in Ho Chi Minh City.

Leaders from the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee and National Traffic Safety Committee attended the forum, which aimed to draw increased attention to pedestrian welfare, a significant health and public safety issue in the country. The forum culminated with the launch of the Safe School Model project that aims to enhance the safety of students by facilitating physical improvements in the walking areas surrounding various HCMC schools. The Safe School Model project supports the United Nations #SaveKidsLives campaign that was also introduced during Global Road Safety Week.
