Legal Development Program members recently attended the 11th ATRANS (Asian Transportation Research Society) Annual Conference. This year’s conference was entitled “Transportation for a Better Life: Lessons Learned from Global Experiences to Local Best Practices.”

The conference, presided over by Transport Minister Arkhom Termpittayapaisith, began with a panel discussion comprised of five experts from the UK, Australia, Vietnam, and Australia who shared their experiences and lessons learned on managing road safety. Among the ATRANS Young Researcher’s Forum presenters were LDP member Thanachart Paliyawate and AIP Foundation’s M&E Assistant Ha Huy Nguyen Nam.

Their papers, “Practical Approaches for Improving Safety of School Transport in Thailand” and “A Study On Motorcycle Driver’s Phone Use While Driving in Vietnam” will be included in this year’s ATRANS journal.

The Legal Development Program is a collaboration between AIP Foundation Thailand and the World Health Organization and aims to reduce road injuries and fatalities through legislative improvement. LDP is supported by the Bloomberg Initiative for Global Road Safety (BIGRS).
