To kick off the new school year, Walk Wise collaborated with the Kai Zhou Education department and the local traffic police department to implement the first road safety course integrated into the official school curriculum in the district. The curriculum incorporates interactive activities focused on traffic signals and road crash case studies in order to make the lesson engaging and meaningful for students.

To commemorate the launch of the new initiative, we organized a ceremony for students from Chenjia Middle and High School in the Kai Zhou District. Mr. Wang, vice president of the Kaizhou Education department, emphasized the importance of collaboration between local schools and the nearby police station in order to integrate road safety education into the formal education system sustainably. More than 1,300 students from three different grades at Chenjia Middle School attended the first class on road safety education as part of the course.

AIP Foundation teamed up with Chevron in 2012 to launch Walk Wise. Since its inception, the program has worked with more than 120,000 students, trained more than 1,500 teachers, and collaborated with more than 260,000 parents and community members.
