Walk Wise China Stakeholder Review Meeting October 2017
AIP Foundation staff meet with stakeholders to review the final evaluation results of Walk Wise in Kaizhou District.

AIP Foundation presented results from Walk Wise’s five years of road safety programming in Kaizhou District to relevant stakeholders, including representatives from Chevron, Kaizhou District government officials, and students from the program schools. In 2012, AIP Foundation, with the support of Chevron, launched Walk Wise in the Kaizhou District of Chongqing, a mountainous region where many of the roads are steep, narrow, and winding. Since its start, the program has worked directly with 124,114 students across 85 schools, and reached 261,135 parents and community members through parent meetings, public events, billboards, and media reports.

Thanks to the success of Walk Wise in Kaizhou District, AIP Foundation and Chevron will expand this initiative to Nanba Township and the surrounding areas in Xuanhan County, Sichuan Province. The project will work with four primary schools and three secondary schools within the province to improve the road safety knowledge of students and members of the Nanba community.
